ReForest Will Contribute to EMANES Annual Conference 2025 in Barcelona

Dezember 10 - Dezember 12

ReForest is proud to announce its participation in the EMANES Annual Conference 2025, which will take place from 10 to 12 December 2025 in Barcelona, Spain, in a hybrid format. The event will be held at the Recinte Modernista de Sant Pau and is co-organised by the Euro-Mediterranean Economists Association (EMEA), who are leading partner in ReForest, the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS), the Circular Economy and Climate Institute of EPLO, and EU-funded projects including ReForest and CROSS-REIS.

This year’s conference theme, “Towards Regenerative Economies: Pathways for Inclusive, Sustainable and Resilient Development in Europe, the Mediterranean and Africa,” reflects a growing need to move beyond sustainability towards economic models that restore natural systems, empower communities, and promote wellbeing across generations.

As part of the planned Policy Session of the conference, ReForest will share insights on agroforestry as a nature-based solution that supports regenerative development across rural landscapes in Europe. The Policy Session will convene high-level stakeholders, including EU and international policy actors, to examine how climate, food, and biodiversity objectives can be integrated into economic and regional strategies. The main objective is to demonstrate how agroforestry can contribute to climate resilience, ecosystem regeneration, and rural livelihoods.

The EMANES Annual Conference offers a high-level platform for dialogue across sectors and regions, which is a strategic opportunity for ReForest to:

  • Share scientific findings on the benefits of agroforestry for soil, biodiversity, and carbon capture;
  • Contribute to a wider understanding of land-based regenerative solutions;
  • Strengthen synergies with other initiatives and actors working on resilience, sustainability, and rural innovation;
  • Position ReForest’s tools and knowledge within a policy-focused framework on regeneration and circularity.

We are looking forward to contributing to this important event and strengthening the case for agroforestry as a key component of regenerative economic development.
