ReForest presented at the European Carbon Farming Summit 2026 in Padua

ReForest was presented at the Европейска среща на върха за въглеродното земеделие, held from 17 to 19 March 2026 at the Padova Congress Centre in Padua, Italy. The event brought together more than 700 participants from across Europe, including researchers, farmers, policymakers, businesses, and project representatives, to discuss the future of carbon farming and climate-smart agriculture.

The European Carbon Farming Summit is one of the leading European forums dedicated to advancing regenerative and low-carbon farming solutions. The event brought together diverse stakeholders to exchange knowledge, explore new approaches to soil health and carbon sequestration, and discuss policy frameworks and market mechanisms that can support the scaling of carbon farming practices across Europe.

At the 2026 edition of the summit, ReForest was represented by Alina Syp от Полска асоциация за агролесовъдство (OSA) и Rico Hübner from DeFAF (German Agroforestry Association).

During a workshop aiming at unlocking synergies among agroforestry actors through participatory approaches, Alina Syp presented her work on the assessment of carbon farming practices in Poland. The presentation highlighted key aspects of the assessment and contributed to discussions on how agroforestry and carbon farming practices can support sustainable land management and climate mitigation. The topic was also showcased through a poster presenting key insights from the assessment.

Marie Gosme, coordinator of our sister project DigitAF, presented ReForest during a session dedicated to European projects dealing with agroforestry, further highlighting the project’s activities and contribution to the agroforestry research and innovation landscape.

Participation in the summit provided an important opportunity for ReForest partners to engage with the wider carbon farming community, exchange knowledge with stakeholders from across Europe, and strengthen collaboration with related initiatives working on sustainable agriculture and climate action.

ReForest would like to thank its partners for representing the project at the event, the DigitAF project for highlighting ReForest and for the excellent collaboration between the projects, and Project Credible for the organisation of this important event.
