SUMMARY:Regenerative Finance Scheme for Agroforestry Upscaling: ReForest Special Session at EMANES Annual Conference 2025
DESCRIPTION:ReForest is proud to announce its participation in the EMANES Annual Conference 2025\, taking place from 10 to 12 December 2025 in Barcelona\, Spain\, in a hybrid format. Hosted at the Recinte Modernista de Sant Pau\, the conference is co-organised by the Euro-Mediterranean Economists Association (EMEA)—a leading ReForest partner—the Centre for European Policy Studies (CEPS)\, the Circular Economy and Climate Institute of EPLO\, and EU-funded projects including ReForest and CROSS-REIS. \nThis year’s theme\, “Towards Regenerative Economies: Pathways for Inclusive\, Sustainable and Resilient Development in Europe\, the Mediterranean and Africa\,” highlights the growing global shift from sustainability toward regeneration: restoring natural systems\, empowering communities\, and supporting long-term wellbeing. \nAs part of the conference programme\, ReForest will host a dedicated Special Session titled “Regenerative Finance Scheme for Agroforestry Upscaling.” This session will present the project’s latest findings on how agroforestry can evolve into a regenerative asset class\, one that generates long-term value through soil health improvement\, carbon removals\, biodiversity gains\, and enhanced landscape resilience. \nBuilding on ReForest’s scientific evidence and farmer-centred innovations\, the Special Session will explore: \n\nInstitutional and regulatory barriers influencing agroforestry adoption in Europe\nAn innovative Regenerative Finance Scheme designed to attract both public and private investment\nNew insights from a probabilistic Decision Analysis model assessing the financial performance of agroforestry for farmers\nPathways for integrating agroforestry into regenerative economic and territorial strategies\n\nThe session will be moderated by Prof. Martin Lukac\, Coordinator of the ReForest project\, and will feature presentations from Dr. Prajna Kasargodu Anebagilu (University of Bonn) and Tiago Zibecchi (EMEA). \nThe EMANES Annual Conference provides a high-level platform for cross-regional dialogue and collaboration\, offering a strategic opportunity for ReForest to: \n\nShare cutting-edge research on agroforestry’s environmental and economic benefits\nDemonstrate how regenerative finance can accelerate agroforestry upscaling\nStrengthen synergies with related initiatives focused on resilience\, sustainability\, and innovation\nPosition ReForest’s tools\, models\, and digital platforms within broader policy and investment frameworks supporting regenerative development\n\nMore information about the ReForest session: Regenerative Finance Scheme for Agroforestry Upscaling – EMANES Annual Conference 2025 \nRegistration link: Online Registration to EMANES Special Sessions
